Serving customers across renewables, conventional generation, energy storage and commodity markets through their platform, they harness data to optimise and improve decision making

A back-end software developer is needed to sit in our engineering team with other software engineers, modellers and data scientists

On a technical basis, you will be required to have:

  • Python and Web APIs
  • NoSQL databases
  • Cassandra, Solar, Spark
  • Go and SonarQube
  • Visual Studio Online

On a day to day basis, you will be:

  • Working closely with domain experts, creatives and platform engineers to write performant and scalable code to deliver a software solution.
  • Developing and productising algorithms, at the platform's core
  • Understanding and contributing to and improving data lake-based architecture, utilising powerful big data technologies and a microservice-based approach
  • Contributing to platform feature throughput through an Agile setup
  • Participating in hackathons and use non-sprint time for experimentation and innovation
  • Working in a devops environment and complete bug fixes
  • Continuously developing knowledge and skills in the software development space, adding languages, libraries and technology to skill set
  • Peer-reviewing code and recommending improvements
  • Taking ownership and be accountable for providing customer satisfaction through quality work and meeting target deadlines
  • Undertaking training as the business requires and be willing to train and coach others, sharing your experience and expertise
