Content Designer - GDS
We are currently recruiting for a Content Designer, to work for our client baes in Newport.
This is ajn inital 6 month contract sitting INSIDE of IR35, with extensions.
About the role:
Work closely with other members of our multidisciplinary team to identify user needs, and then write content plans, design and publish content based on this
Review the work of other content designers and experts from other disciplines, and give constructive and honest feedback
Run workshops and collaborate with cross-government colleagues
Lead on managing relationships between your team, the organisations you are working with and other parts of GDS (including GOV.UK) on issues around content
Actively develop and apply content and format strategies
Support your multidisciplinary team to make the right content decisions
Advocate for the user in meetings with colleagues across government
They'll also be:
Scoping, commissioning, writing, editing and publishing digital content
Making sure user journeys are the best they can be
Managing relationships and working with subject matter experts to make sure content is accurate
Responsible for producing and publishing accurate, plain English, user-focused, high-quality and accessible content to style and on time
It's essential that candidates have:
Experience of being embedded in an agile, multidisciplinary product team
Proven experience of being a successful advocate for the importance of content design and a user centred approach
Experience of managing content projects
Experience of being responsible for the quality of the work of others and providing constructive feedback on their writing
Extensive experience of writing for the web, with proven ability of creating content that is accessible and usable
Proven experience in using metrics and user feedback to define and refine content
Experience in choosing the best format for displaying information to the user
Experience in working with content publishing systems.
