Data Analyst / Data Research Officer - R Coding Analysis - Central Government

- fully Remote working anywhere in the UK
- HEO - £19 to £20.40 per hour, 37 hours a week
- Contractor post - Inside IR35, LTD or Umbrella for pay
- Take home pay: £2200/£2300 per month
- Until 31st March 2022 (end of financial year, will very likely extend)

TYPICAL ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The post holder, along with the SStO, will be responsible for the publication of the quarterly personal well-being release.
The post holder would be expected to support with all aspects of the publication process from:
- Running analysis on the Annual Population Survey (APS) using R
- Quality assuring the outputs
- Supporting the SStO with drafting the release
- Coordinating the release with the publishing support team
- Supporting the SStO and G7 with any media preparations
- Along with the SStO the post holder will also be responsible for
- Working with methodology to review the seasonal adjustment of the personal well-being estimates.
- Working with methodology to review the timeliness of our RAP
- Working with OSR to review whether the quarterly personal well-being data meets the criteria to move from an experimental statistic to a national statistic.
- The post holder would also be included in the rotation of staff answering customer queries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- This post does not include line management opportunities; however, it would provide the post holder with ample development opportunities in social survey analysis and coding across a broad topic area as well as insight into the full publication process.
- There may be opportunity for the post holder to lead on analysis independently from our upcoming work plan.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven analytical experience in a known statistical method
- Be able to analyse social survey data in R, or similar office approved statistical language.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - the ability to communicate complex analysis to non-specialists and to contribute to, and work well within, a team.
- Experience of working collaboratively - working flexibly with a range of colleagues to provide a high-quality service to users.
- Strong evidence of organisational and planning skills.
- Be able to work at pace, being flexible to changing demands and willing to collaborate with others to achieve a common purpose
