My client based in Birmingham are looking for a team-focussed Data Engineer with good database skills to carry out a variety of data-related development, maintenance, and manipulation tasks, to support the strategic regulatory and operational needs of the organisation. The Data Engineer will be equally comfortable discussing and maintaining data models; bulk loading and manipulating data within them; developing database and other data manipulation code; and working closely with the data asset owners, the Business Improvement and Business Intelligence (BI) teams, internal governance, and external suppliers. This is a hybrid technical / business role requiring in-depth technical expertise in some key areas together with liaison with stakeholders.

*This role is hybrid office/home (city centre Birmingham base) and paying up to £50K + a generous benefits package*

The essentials are:

- Advanced T-SQL including complex queries and stored procedures

- Good experience of copying data between platforms - any of ODBC, SSIS, Azure Data Factory, even CSV files - understanding of the issues and practicalities is more important than the particular tools used

And the list of nice extras, in descending order of priority, as:

- Solid experience of Microsoft Azure: Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Dev Ops, Azure portal

- Good understanding of source code versioning and control, preferably git under Azure Dev Ops

- Experience with Visual Studio development, preferably covering both Database and SSIS projects

- Some experience with Dynamics CRM (preferably D365 cloud-based) and Dataverse including Advanced Find, workflows, Logic Apps

- Good understanding of Synapse Analytics / SQL Data Warehouse

- Understanding and practical experience of Azure Analysis Services models

- Appreciation of Power BI reports

- Appreciation of principles of data modelling

If this sounds like something you would like to explore further then please apply and I will be in touch with suitable candidates.

Thanks,
