Project Description: The Data Engineer will join a team dedicated to developing innovative big data platforms for advanced analytics and data processing. This role involves defining and building data pipelines to support data-informed decision-making within the business.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Solution and Data Architects to design the next-generation big data platform for the digital marketing platform.
  • Design and implement a big data solution that supports high data volume and velocity, future growth, and uses the latest big data technologies.
  • Develop and maintain modern data pipelines to extract, clean, and process data in batch and real-time from various data sources.
  • Utilize the latest development, testing, and deployment techniques to quickly release new data pipelines and integrate new data sources.
  • Establish best practices around data governance, security, and privacy.
  • Work with architects to define the target data strategy.
  • Apply Agile Framework within the operating environment and guide direct reports through Agile tools and techniques.

Skills & Requirements:
Core Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Certified in Agile Product Owner / SCRUM Master and/or other Agile techniques.

Leadership Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation, and presentation skills.
  • Experienced in communicating with business stakeholders at all levels.
  • Comfortable working with global stakeholders and in a global business environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience in Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), SQL, PySpark, CI/CD, Python.
  • Experience with data warehouse implementations, data movement, data services, and data acquisition.
  • Knowledge of Source Code Control (e.g., Git, Subversion).
  • Familiarity with Open Source Frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop).
  • Strong design and coding skills (e.g., Python, Scala, JavaScript).
  • Experience with reporting/visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, SAP Lumira/Design Studio, Spotfire).
  • Experience with SQL-based technologies (e.g., MSSQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
  • Experience with Restful API development.
  • Knowledge of data blending technology (e.g., Alteryx).
  • Experience with Microsoft or AWS data stacks (e.g., Microsoft Azure Data Lake, Hadoop, Cosmos DB, HDInsight/HBase, MongoDB, Redis, Azure Table/Blob stores).
  • Good to have experience with Azure Analysis Services (AAS).
