Job Description

As a Delivery Lead you will be accountable for the effective delivery of one or more mixed discipline workstreams. This role is ideal for someone who is curious and unafraid of taking initiative, a good collaborator and empathetic people manager who can bring out the best in others and deliver objectives without compromising on quality, standards, integrity, or culture.


* Work closely with business area(s) across to ensure the effective delivery of complex, high-risk products and services.
* Use appropriate waterfall and agile delivery methodologies, learning and iterating frequently.
* Be capable of building long standing, trust-based stakeholder relationships and engaging with senior stakeholders on a range of programme and delivery management activities.
* Build and matrix manage multidisciplinary teams made up of business analysts, services designers, business architects and test professions, ensuring they are motivated, collaborating and working well.
* Work with service owners and products owners to define the roadmap and translate this into an achievable backlog.
* Lead the collaborative, dynamic planning process, prioritising work that needs to be done against the capacity and capability of the team, and ensuring the team remains focused on those priorities.
* Work with technical leads and functional leads to drive timely delivery of quality solutions.
* Identify obstacles related to workstream deliverables and work closely with other team members to resolve them in-time without impacting the delivery schedule.
* Ensure workstream deliverables meet customer standards, acting as a champion for user needs and quality standards.
* Act as the main point of escalation for customers.

Skills and Experience

* Agile Delivery - Coach and lead teams in Agile and Lean practices, determining the right approach for the team to take and evaluating this through the life of the project. Think of new and innovative ways of working to drive continuous improvement and achieve the right outcomes.
* Creating the right environment for success - understanding how to work with other digital, technical and functional roles, job families and professions.
* Working within constraints - ability to influence, challenge and coach. Anticipate how constraints might change and know where to challenge or remove blockers and barriers to progress.
* Life-cycle perspective - apply experience from multiple parts of the product life cycle. Recognise when it is right to move forward and when it is right to stop. Recognise the appropriate deliverables and the right people to meet these. Plan and engage with the appropriate stakeholders at a particular stage in the project.
* Problem ownership - knowing how to anticipate problems and manage risk. Understand how the problem fits into the larger picture, articulate the problem, and help others to build problem-solving capabilities.
