TYPICAL ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities

* Cost and benefit modelling to inform business case(s)
* Supporting a robust and comprehensive (economic) evaluation of the implementation, impact (including benefits identified) and value for money of current projects
* Engage with colleagues and strategic partners, so that economic cases and benefits evaluation reflect the full range of work being undertaken, and possible benefits which may result
* Author the Economic cases for programmes in line with the Green Book, Better Business Cases methodology and best practices.
* Support the development of other cases within the five-case business case model - primarily the Strategic case
* Provide expert advice in the development of the business case(s) as a whole.
* Ensure that the economic data, research, and modelling presented in economic cases and benefits evaluation is robust and based on assumptions that have been signed off by stakeholders.

Relevant Qualifications Skills and Experience:

Qualifications

* Undergraduate degree in economics and/or finance (mixed degrees should be at least 50% economics and/or finance) - Essential

Experience - Essential

* Experience in development of cost models
* Experience in conducting cost/benefit analysis and articulating in the context of Business Case development
* Excellent track record for producing business cases for programmes and projects
* Strong analytical skills including research and investigation, able to analyse and manipulate data for reporting
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with colleagues of varying technical knowledge

Desirable

* Experience of writing complex business cases in line with the Green Book, Better Business Cases methodology and best practices
* Understanding and developing cost estimates for data, statistics, and/or research
