Job Description:


As part of a multi-skilled team, you will build trusting working relationships with SCS and Delivery Managers across all Divisions within the DST Directorate ensuring resources required, to deliver the Digital and Technology Strategy, are in place.
In this role you will analyse, advise and report on financial performance for the DST Directorate Finances, support the delivery of business performance reporting, budgeting and forecasting. This is a real partnership with colleagues from Central Finance Directorate, so you will be solving problems, as you deliver transactional processes, analysis and reporting which includes:
* Purchase Order Management - for contingent labour and other IT related contracts.
* Cost control (such as monitoring expenditure across DST and all associated projects).
* Business area cost and variance analysis.
* Budgeting and forecasting activities.
* Reconciliation processing for the Work Force Plan.
* Improving efficiencies of processes.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Dealing with invoice queries in a timely manner to ensure prompt payment whilst supporting the billing process.

* Dealing with purchase order creating, receipting and housekeeping.
* Taking the lead on timesheet collation, quality assurance, providing data for the financial system and
relevant supporting spreadsheets.
* Delivering a fit for purpose financial management service for our internal and external stakeholders
following the team's business rhythm, displaying tenacity to achieve goals whilst managing
blockers to delivery.
* Updating all financial records to ensure they reflect the latest position, whilst demonstrating excellent
attention to detail.
* Investigating transactional queries ensuring the correct coding structures are applied and take the necessary action to address coding discrepancies.
* Preparing monthly and quarterly costs analysis, as and when required, to aid decision making by senior managers.
* Continually reviewing processes to ensure all activities undertaken delivers value for money.


Proven ability to work on your own initiative, coping with the demands of a fast-paced challenging Finance environment; where opportunities need to be quickly realised.

Experience in managing IT related resourcing including; invoices, requisitions and purchase order management.

Extensive Excel experience and highly numerate, with proven experience of working with large complex datasets - you will be expected to create VLOOKUPS, Pivot tables, conditioning format and complex formulas.
