Data Governance and Risk Manager - COVID-19 project

Inside IR35

Fully Remote Working

3 month initial contract, likely to extend

SERVICE REQUIREMENT

The role of the Governance and Risk Specialist is to manage and control governance activities in the project to enable effective management and decision-making of the project. They should ensure timely, consistent and accurate data collection, analysis and reporting on project progress and delivery confidence. They will proactively manage risks and issues facing the project or programme by coordinating the consistent identification, documentation, monitoring and reporting.


TYPICAL ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with stakeholders to agree a governance and reporting structure. Establish appropriate boards, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are represented.
  • Develop a program of regular risk and issue reviews with key stakeholders. Point of expert professional knowledge and experience on PD Risk and Issue Management. Supports the business in identifying appropriate strategies for dealing with Risk and Issues
  • Responsible for facilitating the identification, analysis and monitoring of PD Risks and Issues. Directs the creation and format of periodic and ad-hoc PD Risk and Issues reports, including qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, as required by Governance Boards.
  • Develop and agree tolerances, escalation triggers and investment gateways.
  • Ensure risks and issues are an integral part of the governance cycle and boards give enough time to consider key risks and issues.
  • Design change control process, agreeing tolerance and escalation points. Oversee compliance with change request process, escalating non-compliance.
  • Set knowledge and information processes that conform with organisational standards. QA and challenge the project/ business to follow the agreed processes.


RELEVENT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Project management or support qualification such as Prince2, P3O, MoR, MSP
  • Experience in project, programme or business planning (operational, financial and workforce planning), ideally across a number of sectors/organisations
  • Experience of working with both Agile and more traditional delivery methodologies.
  • A track record of prioritising and delivering outputs in a fast-paced, high pressure and time-sensitive environment responding quickly and decisively to changing circumstances
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills with a proven record of establishing, building and maintaining strong, collaborative and productive relationships with senior stakeholders that generated confidence in your insights and the actions necessary
  • A track record of prioritising and delivering outputs in a fast-paced, high pressure and time-sensitive environment responding quickly and decisively to changing circumstances
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills with a proven record of establishing, building and maintaining strong, collaborative and productive relationships with senior stakeholders that generated confidence in your insights and the actions necessary
