What we're looking for is exceptional individuals, with foresight, capability and personality to manage a £60bn Data Asset as part of a multi £bn publicly significant transformation programme.
In this newly formed role you will spearhead a team setting the strategy and design for the organisation's use of data which industrialises the delivery of data products and services. You will champion data architecture across the organisation and into wider industry communities setting the standards and ways of working whilst providing technical leadership and career development.
With freedom to make day-to-day/medium term strategic decisions, you will inspire best practice, working with other senior team members to identify, plan, develop and deliver data services. You'll support the business to design, build, test and maintain data management systems making sure they meet business requirements, user needs and recommend ways to improve data efficiency and reliability driving the toward automated, reliable and secure services.
- People management responsibilities 4-6 direct - Data Architects, Data Engineers, Project & Programme Managers; with up to 16 indirect staff

A natural leader with confident communication skills between the technical and the non-technical, you're able to mediate, build relationships and manage stakeholders' expectations facilitating discussions across high risk or complex topics or under constrained timescales.
Able to speak and represent the community to large audiences inside and outside of government, you understand and can help teams apply a range of techniques for data profiling and source system analysis from a complex single source, bringing multiple data sources together in a conformed model for analysis.
With natural understanding of the concepts and principles of data modelling, working across multiple sectors incl government and into industry you also have the vision for the opportunities to re-use and align between the data models in different organisations.
All of this is wrapped in a passionate, capable relationship builder with integrity to take ownership and oragnisational capability to deliver.
The is is permanent position based in the United Kingdom however, you will be expected to go into nearest UK office (North/Midlands/South East and South West) when necessary (workshops/f2f meeting etc) to proceed.
