My client is within the education industry and are a global provider of data. This crucial role has been created to work with the Chief Data Officer to lead a growing Data Science team. This is an exciting opportunity to grow an already well established brand working in a dynamic and well-funded digital education business

Key Responsibilities

// Lead, manage and develop a team of 5 data scientists

// Collaborate with business stakeholders and senior leadership to support and inform strategic data related decisions.

// Responsible for the leading the scoping, development and delivery of a range of new and existing rankings through from concept to publication

// Research and development of new analyses for derivative products, additional rankings and data products.

// Speaking at events, master classes and conferences to explain and promote rankings and data products to our clients and a wider HE audience.

// Ensuring the quality, validity and applicability of data from data collection to implementation in products and publications.

// Keeping abreast of current education trends, practices, developments and regulatory changes, which may impact the way data are presented, entered or interpreted.


// 5+yrs experience working in a senior/lead data scientist role where you will have managed and mentored a team of data scientists

// Extensive knowledge of data management, data modelling and analysis in data-driven organisations across a wide range of technologies and platforms e.g. Python, R, machine learning, SQL

// Process driven with meticulous attention to detail and experience of designing and implementing best practice processes

// Ability to develop excellent working relationships and work closely with data processors from different departments with the ability to build relationships across wide range of personalities, abilities and cultures.

// Ability to communicate with institutions with credibility at all levels and comfortable with public speaking.

// Working to deadlines in a fast-moving environment.

If you have any knowledge of the Higher Education sector or directory publishing sector, educated to PhD/Msc level, then this would be beneficial.
