Infrastructure Engineer

• NetApp, VMWare, vSphere
• Contract - 6 months
• £400/£425 per day (Outside IR35)
• Remote working in the UK (visits to Glasgow, Scotland may be required 2/3 times per month, however this is negotiable)

Summary:

An experienced platform engineer is required to assist in the expansion of existing NetApp MetroCluster design, to design and build a new VMSC compute platform and to make improvements to the existing platform.

Skills and Experience required:

• Cisco UCS build/configure and support/troubleshooting
• VMWare 6.X + 7 multi-site environments, linked mode
• VMWare vSphere HA
• SAN management and design
• NetAPP AFF Cluster / Metrocluster
• NetApp FC MetroCluster
• Administration of Fibre Channel Fabrics
• Experience with Commvault backup solutions, Hyperscale & Hardware
• Disaster recovery planning and execution, including wider assurance activities
• Data centre management and best practices
• Windows and RHEL operating systems
• Platform monitoring solutions and paradigms
• Agile working practices, including Kanban

Other Skills considered:

• Certified across: VMware VCP 6.5 or higher / VCAP NV & Nutanix NCP, NetApp
• Working with an assurance function to ensure DR/BCP design and testing
• procedures are fit for purpose
• Security design and architecture
• System administration experience with Nutanix Clusters
• NSX-T DFW Administration experience
• Experience with Ansible
• Experience with GIT
• Experience with Brocade Fibre channel switch management
• PHP/MySQL development of dashboards/monitoring tools
• Infrastructure as code, including automation using powershell/powercli, and/or
• python
