Infrastructure Engineer

- £525 - £575 per day
- 6 months initially
Job description:
- Designs, builds, manages, and supports the infrastructure services that underpin all internal user services and services to the public.
- Working in a team of infrastructure specialists and engineers, supports, and maintains infrastructure solutions and services as directed and according to departmental policy;
- ensures services are delivered and used as required;
- work with and support third parties to provide infrastructure services.

- Build, configure, administer, and support infrastructure technologies and solutions such as:
- computing,
- storage,
- networking,
- physical infrastructure,
- software,
- COTS and open source packages and solutions,
- virtual and cloud computing, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.
- Discuss the central principles of modern standards approach.
- Investigate problems in systems, processes, and services, with an understanding of the level of a problem.
- Know how to produce detailed designs and document all work using required standards, methods, and tools, including prototyping tools where appropriate.
- Build and test simple interfaces between systems or can work on more complex integration as part of a wider team.
- Test scripts under supervision.
Key Tasks & Deliverables
The candidate will cover a range of BAU tasks to support, maintain, replace and rebuild our infrastructure which consists of Virtual Windows and Unix-based servers.
