Job Description

My client are looking for a contract Online SQL reporting Developer for an initial 3 month contract. They have offices across the UK and travel would be expected to your closest one to be 2 days a week.

This is a 3 month contract and outside IR35!

The Oracle DBA works as part of the Infrastructure Services team. This position is required to support and implement their IT Strategy and provide 2nd line support to all Oracle Database Management Systems across various sites around Europe.

You will:

❖ Provide second line support responding to incident referrals. Support hardware and software for Oracle and MySQL Database Management System solutions.
❖ Prioritise problems based on severity and urgency and track all outstanding incidents until successful resolution or reallocation.
❖ Perform routine tasks for system maintenance as required.
❖ Conduct routine hardware, software and access control audits, implement remediation activities to ensure compliance with IT Governance policies and procedures.
❖ Perform DBMS installation in accordance with procedures defined by Oracle Senior DBA's.
❖ Perform root cause problem investigations and implement remediation's as defined by Oracle Senior DBA's.
❖ Implement system changes as defined by established change control procedures
❖ Maintain solution documentation and accuracy of the configuration management database (CMDB)
❖ Flexible approach to working as unsociable hours is often required.
❖ Identify and facilitate opportunities for continuous improvement in the product, process and service.

❖ Strong knowledge of all Oracle Database Management Systems
❖ Current knowledge of MySQL Database Management Systems
❖ Experience of working with a team of IT engineers and infrastructure across a multi-site environment
❖ Understanding of service management tools from IBM. TADDM, TSM, and IT CAM.
❖ Good organisational skills, the ability to handle a variety of tasks and priorities.
❖ Strong English communication skills and ability to work individually or as part of a team.
❖ Proven problem solving and decision making skills
❖ Experience of ITIL and Prince 2 methodologies.
