People Data Advisor
£150-170 per day. Inside IR35
6 Months. Possible extension
Remote for foreseeable. Due to the current circumstances, working from home is required. However, when restrictions are removed or suitably eased, your normal office location will apply. Edinburgh or Glasgow Office.
Support the delivery of robust and insightful management intelligence advice and knowledge to support effective delivery of the HROD critical outcomes.
Main Responsibilities:
The People Data Adviser will scope and deliver a range of data, dashboards and MI reports to help inform and shape business decisions. This will include both scheduled reports and ad-hoc requests. Provide accurate and timely data for a range of internal and external requirements, including monthly and annual cabinet office reporting, ensuring reports and dashboards meet customer needs. Work closely with the HROD Managers and Leads to support data and MI related tactical and strategic work to deliver solutions that work for customers and the organisation. Engage with a range of colleagues, participating in project and governance forums to provide subject matter expert insight and challenge. Advise team leaders on how to leverage MI available to them via the manager self service functionality on the HR system. In addition, where possible identify new business processes and customer opportunities with a focus on continuous improvement. Support the identification, evaluation and tracking of business benefits including via the people dashboard and with a significant focus on project specific outcome evaluation. Collaborate with SMEs and colleagues from other parts of Registers of Scotland on joint deliverables. Carry out required data loads and systems administration, maintaining the business unit databases, ensuring the accuracy of data and available management information
Essential Skills

  • Excellent grasp of people metrics and people data analytics, translating information into robust accessible reports
  • Specific experience in inputting to HR data dashboards and people reports, demonstrating an ability to use a suite of data collection processes
  • Ability to work closely with HR teams, as well as independently, to identify problems to be solved and continuous improvement opportunities
  • Strength in synthesising complex information into clear and compelling visual stories
  • Experience of working with cross-functional teams using a collaborative approach seeking advice and input from a range of colleagues and customers
  • Proven ability to effectively contract with stakeholders to manage expectations, with an ability to scope requirements to evolve initial data and MI requests into an effective proposition fulfilling customer needs


Desirable Skills

  • Familiarity or working knowledge of digital standards in government
  • Formal management intelligence qualifications with BCS or similar body
  • Excel Level 3 and experience using Crystal Reports, Tableau and SQL
