Performance and Change Advisor
Until March 2022
£350 per day. Inside IR35.
Remote for foreseeable/duration. When the risk of COVID infection is reduced, we envision that many of the team and community activities will take place at our Edinburgh offices, for at least part of each week
To support the alignment of strategy, people, and processes to optimise effectiveness and help RoS achieve its organisational goals
Responsibilities:

  • Work with managers and support them in identifying gaps, opportunities and barriers in structure, people, processes, or culture that are impacting on delivery of organisational, team goals and new ways of working
  • Carry out diagnostics and gather data to assess capability and culture and develop OD interventions at a team and individual level to influence changes
  • Analyse, identify, and utilise design options relating to organisational structures and relationships as appropriate
  • Understand the strategic direction of the organisation and where OD can best add value
  • Lead and facilitate the implementation of OD interventions, programmes and plans within business constraints
  • Work with stakeholders to support them in developing the case for change, including the drivers and vision for change, key milestones, challenges and how success could be measured
  • Apply effective change management to readiness and implementation activities. For example, anticipate and support the organisation through barriers and resistance to change and work to remove these
  • Identify and develop suitable metrics which measure achievements, adoption success and overall performance, in relation to OD and change plans and engage with stakeholders in ensuring their understanding of these
  • Build effective, productive, and trusted relationships with business stakeholders
  • To embody an OD philosophy within RoS, enabling continuous improvement at an organisational level
  • Design and recommend suitable organisational design models and approaches which demonstrably support business priorities meet the needs of RoS
  • Work with HR colleagues to increase their understanding of OD and to further develop an OD mindset into the HR function

  • Ability to collaborate across stakeholders and business functions to deliver agreed outcomes which align to RoS Corporate Plan and People Strategy Commitment and Drive
  • Takes responsibility for delivering expected outcomes to a high standard and timely manner
  • Role models a positive and confident approach to delivery and works to remove barriers to this
  • Adept at applying OD thinking in live environments and supporting teams through change/integration Technical/qualification requirements
  • Experience of working with an HR or OD function
  • Experience of working on OD, Org Design, change or similar interventions or projects
  • Experience of organisational data gathering and analysis
  • Knowledge and/or experience of supporting performance management and development frameworks and supporting systems
  • Awareness and knowledge of thought leadership around OD and change and its pragmatic application in a business environment


Desirable Skills

  • CIPD qualified or another relevant qualification
  • Experience in training/coaching/mentoring colleagues
  • Experience of project management and managing change
  • Qualification in Organisational Development and/or Organisational Design
