Release Deployment Manager

  • Fully remote working anywhere in the UK
  • Contract, Inside IR35. Rates Negotiable

SERVICE REQUIREMENT

An experienced Release Deployment Manager is needed to own the Outputs & Dissemination project release management cycle which includes scheduling, coordinating and the management of releases. Where necessary, provide the tools and services to help product management and project teams manage and deploy releases into production. This role works collaboratively with project, development and testing teams to document and formulate the release scope and plan release deliverables.


TYPICAL ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and manage deployment plans per release, covering all deliverables and activities as services and products transition to live.
  • Coordinate release activities with business and technical release managers across the Census Outputs & Dissemination Programme and facilitate communication across this forum.
  • Schedule and coordinate the technical deployment of new and updated tools, environments, services, and infrastructure required to deliver in accordance with the published Release Schedule, ensuring alignment with existing business as usual publishing processes
  • Coordinate census release publishing activities across partner dissemination platforms as required (e.g., census.gov.uk, letscount.org.uk, Nomis), inc. Welsh deliverables.
  • Schedule and run release readiness reviews, milestone reviews per deployment, working closely with the Programme Manager, Business Transition Management and the Testing and Assurance Team, and hold post deployment reviews to identify improvements for future releases.
  • Track progress against release deployment plans, find and unblock issues and report progress (weekly or more frequently) on overall release management status per release.
  • Identify, report, and manage risk across the deployment landscape to protect the release scope and quality.
  • Maintain documentation related to procedures on build and deployment, notifications lists and dependencies.


Key Skills

  • Previous release planning and coordination experience (min. 2 years)
  • Solid understanding of project management principles
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functions work teams towards task completion
  • Proven ability to navigate a complex organisation to create simple solutions
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • General Confluence and Jira knowledge
