Reporting and Analysis Lead

  • Permanent, Full-Time role
  • Can be based in one of 7 locations across the UK with Travel to Birmingham office when required.

Our client is looking for a Reporting and Analysis Lead with experience of business performance data and leading others in a fast paced and constantly evolving environment.

In this role you will support the efficient and customer focused delivery of a large-scale Investment Strategy by driving excellence in project, programme directorate and corporate reporting. You will lead and be responsible for the development, delivery and maintenance of high quality reporting standards, information presentation and analysis techniques across Major projects. As a result, you will have regular contact and interaction with Major projects senior leadership teams.

The Major Projects Delivery Services (MPDS) purpose is to make successful delivery outcomes possible through business level controls, developing professions and capability, maximising innovative thinking and being a critical friend.

What you'll be leading on

  1. Lead the provision and continuous improvement of all Major Projects Directorate reporting including presenting a wide provision of leading indicators and metrics to drive improved business performance.
  1. Product owner for the reporting development, embedment and benefits realisation of Major Projects reporting (PowerBI).
  1. Lead on defining, implementing and maintaining reporting and performance management standards, to ensure full compliance with statutory and organisational requirements.
  1. Carry out regular, critical analysis of Major Projects business performance and provide feedback, challenge and assurance to inform the directorate reporting and identify the need for planned interventions that drive improved business performance and minimise delivery and financial risks.
  1. Accountable leader for the development and implementation of the Major Projects monthly reporting drumbeat and processes, utilising agile methodologies (e.g. SCRUM, Sprints etc) and ensuring a continuously improving suite of reporting components to inform intelligent decision making.
  1. Develop and maintain strong, collaborative, working relationships with the Major Projects Leadership Team, PMO teams, Corporate functions and Programme delivery teams; to ensure a strong understanding of business reporting and data management needs.
  1. Lead, motivate and develop the Reporting and Analysis team ensuring capability development, staff engagement and efficient deployment of resources to drive excellent customer service and a continuously improving service provision.

To be successful you'll need

  • Experience of leading and improving reporting in a complex, high value, project and programme management environment.
  • Experience in developing and presenting leading performance indicators to drive improvement in business performance.
  • Experience of managing complex relationships with stakeholders and evidence of skills to influence decision making
  • Strong analytical skills, to develop, analyse and draw out forward looking headlines on business plans and performance including intervention requirements.
  • Ability to inspire and promote good team work and cooperation, with strong leadership skills and proven experience of managing and developing individuals.
