Resource and Finance Manager
Remote for foreseeable. there is an expectation to return to the office in some capacity in the coming months/year. Titchfield (Fareham) or Newport (South Wales) office location.
£25-27 per hour. Inside IR35.
Start: ASAP
End: 31st March 2022.

Job Description

The role of the Resource Manager is to define the people resources required for a project at different stages, and to identify, recruit, deploy, flex and develop those resources to support successful delivery. The resource manager works closely with the project/programme manager to ensure resource requirements are met. Resources may be people focussed, other resources may be physical (eg. equipment).

Typical role responsibilities:
  • Resource Strategy and Planning - Lead the development and implementation of a number of resource and capability activities across one or many projects. Lead specific activities at a local or departmental level and/or for bring in external or expert resources as required.
  • Stakeholder Management - Lead key stakeholder relationships required to secure project resources.
  • Reporting- Lead the timely and accurate reporting on Project Resource and Capability activities to support resourcing activities. Highlight key resourcing and capability risks and plans for mitigation. Support the use of resource management tools in project.
  • Capability Management - Lead the identification of resource levels, skills and competencies required and skill gaps for new and existing staff.


Essential Criteria
Demonstrable knowledge and experience in resource management. Monitoring and reporting on supply/demand highlighting trends and forecasting requirements and monitoring costs to enable successful delivery in the business
A clear focus on delivery, co-ordinating multiple activities in a complex high paced, time critical environment. Displaying excellent organisational skills, a clear attention to detail and a proven track record of resolving specific problems to deliver valued outcomes
Strong communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal with the ability to professionally, articulately and clearly present evidence-based analysis, advice and recommendations on complex issues.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills with a proven record of establishing, building and maintaining strong, collaborative and productive relationships across functional and organisational boundaries
Evidence of establishing sound processes and operating within professional standards promoting best practice and consistent approaches
