Senior Data and Governance Analyst - Remote
- Must be Eligible for SC Clearance (lived in the UK for 5 years)
- Remote working anywhere in the UK only
- £25 to £27 per hour, 37 hours a week
- Contractor position - Inside IR35
- Umbrella or LTD Company for pay
- Take home pay estimate after all tax deductions: £2500/£2700 per month
- Until 31/03/23

About the role:
As a Senior Statistical Officer, you will be working alongside the wider analysis team to help influence the strategic direction of the Covid Infection Survey:
We are looking for a candidate who:
is interested in and motivated by research, data and statistics;
has strong organisational and communication skills;
has an understanding of statistics and research and how it can benefit policy, decision making and our understanding of the economy and society.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and communicate methodological developments across multiple teams
- Act as point of contact and administrator of key methodological developments
- Audit and review documentation and processes relating to systems, including Polestar (a Google Cloud Platform)
- Design and implement processes to review, evaluate and improve systems and procedures
- Work collaboratively to develop new methods, production systems and reporting/dissemination to make sure we meet data users' changing needs
- Plan for and implement quality reporting and improvement across
- Contribute to quality assurance and the production of statistical or research publications
- Liaise closely with other staff to share knowledge and develop expertise
- Line manage at least one Research Officer in line with policies and values.
- Prepare agendas and minutes for relevant meetings
- Ensure efficiency and effectiveness of current, planned and future communication activity.
Skills and Experience
- A sound understanding of the use of analysis, evidence and statistics in society and an awareness of official statistics issues in the wider context of contemporary politics
- Experience of operating flexibly, planning and prioritising workloads to meet deadlines
- Experience of using a range of relevant information to support decisions and make timely recommendations
- The ability to communicate confidently using appropriate styles to maximum understanding and impact to a range of audiences
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to consider the needs and priorities of others' when planning collaborative work
- Ability to collaborate and engage with academic partners/customers/stakeholders as part of developing approved research.
- Ambition to improve the scope and utility of the COVID-19 Infection Survey data
