Job Description

Senior Research Officer - Central Government

Inside IR35 - £23 - £26 pay per hour

  • Location: Titchfield or Newport
  • Experience of quality assuring analysis
  • Coding skills in SPSS or R or experience of coding in statistical package

5 Month contract

Working with a critical division of central government, we have an exciting new opportunity where you will join our team of dedicated professionals working on analysing raw survey data.

Role includes:

  • Conducting and overseeing analysis for publications, taking raw survey data and transforming into analysis for decision makers can use to understand people's behaviour in relation to the coronavirus
  • Planning and supervising quality assurance procedures
    • Working with others to solve problems and find solutions
    • Communicating statistics through data visualisation, clear written communication and orally with team members. Coaching and improving team member's communication
    • Using code to produce outputs for further analysis, checking and validating code
    • Evaluation of the performance of survey questions and assisting with aspects of questions design
    • Raising and discussing issue with stakeholders that affect the quality of the surveys or analysis

Essential

  • Experience of leading small teams to deliver quality outcomes in a professional environment
  • Good communication skills with the ability to communicate analysis, outputs and insights effectively using a range of methods, formats and to different audiences
  • Experience of setting standards and supervising quality assurance processes
  • Coding skills in SPSS or R or experience of coding in a statistical package and ability to quality assure code written by others
  • Experience of working collaboratively and flexibly with a variety of stakeholders to provide a coherent service to users
  • Comfortable working in an inclusive environment
  • An analytical background from any profession, Statistics, Economics, Social Research, Operational Research, Data Science, Science. 2.1 Degree in numerate subject or equivalent work experience
