Job Description

Talent are working in partnership with a business in Greater Manchester to recruit a Development Manager.

You will be responsible for heading up a small team of (5) developers whilst leading the development of internal systems and applications. You will also work very closely with the IT Director to devise roadmaps and technical strategy.

A large part of your role will include finding ways to improve process and manage technical debt, whether that be through automating DevOps pipelines, automating testing or implementing TDD. You will have freedom to be creative to ensure that there is a high standard whilst improving quality with code reviews.

Day to day you'll lead the development of various software projects in an Agile and iterative environment using methodologies such as Scrum and CI / CD. Technologies you'll need to have experience with are .NET, SQL, Azure / AWS, although some applications are written with other languages such as Python and Node.js so exposure to and willingness to work with additional programming languages is also beneficial.

You'll also get to shape the future of their technology offering as you progress with the projects and there will be opportunities to grow the team and support the developers to ensure they progress too. Everybody has a voice here and you're working on software that genuinely makes a difference to the lives of many people.

In return you'll get a salary up to £60,000 with remote and flexible working (2-3 times a week after the restrictions have been eased so you will need to be local to Greater Manchester and eligible to work in the UK), the opportunity to work on life changing systems in diverse and collaborative distributed team, excellent pension (one of the best I have ever seen!), access to an employee assistance program and much more.

We're aiming to set up interviews w/c 1st March so if this role is of interest, please apply now for immediate consideration. If this role looks of interest and you don't have an up to date CV, please get in touch with Chinyere at Talent for a confidential conversation to find out more.
