• Duration: 6 Months Initial (Strong likelihood of extension)
• IR35 Status: Inside IR35
• Clearance Level: Active SC Clearance Required (Must be active and transferable due to immediate start)

We are looking for an heavyweight, elite Lead SAS Architect / Platform Guru for an immediate contract engagement within a major public sector estate.

This assignment requires someone who can hit the ground running on Day 1 to take full technical ownership of a complex SAS platform. The primary focus of this contract is delivering the blueprint and architectural roadmap to transition their traditional enterprise environment (heavily integrated with Oracle) into a modern, containerized SAS Viya ecosystem running on Kubernetes.

Because this is a secure public sector environment, you will need to rapidly assess the current estate, align with strict Data Delivery Agreements (DDAs), and ensure the new architecture is fully compliant, highly secure, and operationally resilient.

Key Contract Deliverables

• Target State Architecture: Define and document the architectural roadmap for the SAS platform estate, focusing heavily on SAS Viya adoption.
• Containerization Blueprint: Provide the architectural oversight and design patterns for deploying SAS environments inside Kubernetes (K8s), collaborating closely with DevOps teams.
• Data Integration Strategy: Review and optimize complex ETL frameworks, ensuring seamless, high-performance data pipelines between SAS and enterprise Oracle databases.
• Governance Assurance: Audit and align all architectural designs with public sector compliance frameworks, security standards, and formal DDAs.
• Platform Health & Readiness: Define strict monitoring, observability, and disaster recovery requirements to ensure operational excellence across Dev, Test, and Prod environments.

Experience Profile Required for Immediate Impact

• The SAS Guru: Proven track record acting as the ultimate technical authority and platform architect on large-scale enterprise SAS estates.
• Viya & Kubernetes Expert: Direct, hands-on architectural experience with SAS Viya and containerized deployment models using Kubernetes.
• Database & Integration High-Performer: Deep knowledge of ETL design and optimizing data delivery pipelines connected to Oracle infrastructure.
• Public Sector Governance Specialist: Prior experience navigating the complexities of government data compliance, secure data enclaves, and Data Delivery Agreements (DDAs).
• Cleared: Active SC Clearance is a non-negotiable prerequisite for this contract. Candidates without active clearance cannot be considered due to the immediate start date.
