We’re looking for an experienced Nutanix Systems Administrator to help build and configure our Nutanix AOS (v5.5.x & v5.10.x). You’ll need to be comfortable with using both GUI and CVM command line interfaces.

Must have hands-on experience in Prism Management.

Additional experience in VMWare would be desireable but not essential.

An experienced developer with solid commercial AWS development experience is required to accelerate Registers of Scotland’s move towards Land Register automation The main focus of this work will be R&D activity to prototype an automation risk assessment ruleset that will assess submitted deeds for suitability to automate. This will be focused around RoS AWS cloud platform and AWS AI Services
The Land Registration Automation team has been created as part of RoS drive towards a sustainable Digital Registration capability. The team shall carry out detailed analysis of the problem domain and Research & Development of solutions that allow RoS to develop automation in settling high volume relative low complexity case work. The key challenges to be solved, to move towards these targets, are:

  • OCR and lexical analysis of deed document content to assess automation risk.
  • Lexical analysis of Title Sheet content to interpret unstructured textual content that will support automation of more complex casework.
  • Automation of wet signature check using appropriate document analysis and AI ML techniques.

Main Objectives

  • Develop solutions that meet the key automation challenges.
  • Lexical analysis of deed document content to assess automation risk for Standard Securities and Dispositions.
  • Lexical analysis of Title Sheet content to interpret unstructured textual content that will support automation of more complex casework.
  • Automation of wet signature check using appropriate document analysis and AI ML techniques.
  • Production of initial Standard Security automation service.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Research and development of novel solutions that enable RoS automation goals.
  • Demonstrate excellent, sustainable, and collaborative software development practice that’s focused on delivering highly readable, maintainable, and appropriate artefacts.
  • Extend and sustain the high-quality support procedures, dashboards, monitoring and deployment capabilities to ensure the team can continue to improve services via feedback.
  • Actively participating in all team events, leading where specialist knowledge is required, and supporting the team to improve their process through inspection and adaptation.
  • Engage with the wider RoS communities of practice and interest to share knowledge, techniques, and experience.
  • Ensure high quality of developed solutions through development and maintenance of unit tests – with appropriate code coverage – and code analysis using code quality tools.
  • Ensure that developed software complies with non-functional requirements, such as accessibility, security, UI/UX, performance, maintainability, deployability, etc…
  • Troubleshoot development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms, from the AWS-based modern stack to the multiple strands of ETL and database (legacy and otherwise) that underpins the service.
  • Routinely use collaborative development practices such as pairing and mobbing techniques in programming, code reviews, system design and requirements analysis/refinement, etc.
  • Coaching and mentoring other team members, as appropriate

Essential Skills

  • OCR and lexical analysis techniques including NLP and ML
  • AWS including o CDK o Serverless (Lambda) o S3 o API Gateway o Cloud Formation o Aurora/Postgres
  • Typescript / Python
  • Making excellent quality software with other people.
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders, understanding context and requirements, from diverse areas of a business including Product Management, Service Design, and Operations.
  • Design and implementation of solutions using a service-based and serverless architecture.
  • Using written, verbal, and visual communication to explain complex topics concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Cloud monitoring, telemetry, intelligence tools and processes, including Grafana.
  • Experience working in the Agile delivery models – such as Scrum and/or Kanban frameworks.
  • Formal XP engineering techniques.
  • Defining infrastructure-as-code.

Desirable Skills

  • AWS AI and OCR services such as Textract, Comprehend, Rekognition, SageMaker.
