Achieving rapid growth via Embedded TA
Tech and digital talent fast in preparation for a Series A funding round
Finoa, a rapidly growing digital asset management platform in the cryptocurrency market, established its Berlin HQ in 2020 after a successful seed funding round. Rapid growth was needed to meet growing customer demand, deliver new product options, and prepare for a series A funding round.
With a small, relatively junior talent acquisition team, they faced challenges when recruiting for tech and digital roles and had spent over 3 months trying to recruit for key tech roles with no success. By offering our Embedded service with a fixed monthly fee and dedicated specialists, Finoa were able scale quickly with the right talent for their journey, train their internal team to support future sustainability and ultimately save on cost.
Fuelling Berlin based crypto scale-up with platform engineering talent
Scale-ups need people who are willing to go on the journey with them and they usually need them quickly. New hires need to become as self-sufficient as possible if growth and funding is on the horizon. We helped them understand how they to plan for, hire and retain future talent, and put some processes in place to make the hiring journey as simple as possible for all involved.
Our core objective was to optimise hiring costs and create a memorable hiring experience for candidates. By designing a solution unique to Finoa’s needs and objectives, and creating a commercial model that was structured, clear and fixed, we saved them approximately €143,000 in recruitment costs.
We hired 18 permanent and contract specialists across their platform engineering roles and managed the end-to-end process from job spec design through to onboarding and post hire support.
In addition, we managed candidate screening, compliance, referencing and onboarding, created an end-to-end process that aligned with Finoa’s way of working and centred the candidate experience, resulting in better hires and stronger retention.

Recruitment experts with experience in platform engineering and scale-ups were chosen to lead and support this project. They quickly bedded into the Finoa world, supporting multiple stakeholders across the business with their hiring needs.
Hiring strategy & planning
We devised a hiring plan to achieve monthly and semi-annual targets for challenging tech roles, with a specific aim of recruiting at least 12 Platform Engineers.
Job spec design
Job specs don't form easily or quickly - we took this on to free up the hiring managers time, using our industry and skills vertical expertise to devise engaging job specs.
Interview process transformation
We transformed the interview process to reduce admin efforts and improve time-to-hire which we reduced from four weeks down to three.
We conducted a wide reaching yet targeted campaign in Germany, directly engaging with candidates with scarce skill sets.
For one platform engineering project, we connected with over 1200 candidates, resulting in 6 successful hires. We also searched directly for candidates for a Data Science Team Lead, Head of Platform Engineering and Backend Engineers (Node.js and Golang). For this project we engaged with 2500+ targeted candidates, resulting in 14 hires in just 5 months – surpassing our initial goals.
Training and knowledge share
We designed and delivered training for the internal TA team and departmental stakeholders, to improve recruitment skills and candidate assessment techniques. Our workshops and one-to-one sessions improved candidate experience and increased offer acceptance, fostering stronger relationships and clearer communication between the TA team and hiring managers.
Talent International came onsite to support and develop our talent acquisition function earlier this year. They delivered and hired strong candidates for hard-to-fill tech positions that we previously had great difficulty hiring for. They lead on talent acquisition for these roles, while guiding hiring managers, designing and implementing process improvements, and overall helping us to deliver an excellent candidate experience. Additionally, they worked closely with our internal TA team, delivering extensive training and supporting junior members in wider hiring for Finoa.
